Backstage and Soundcheck Pics 2016
Thanks to everyone who came to one of this year's shows. We had a lot of fun travelling in the UK, Ireland, Germany, Holland, Spain, Austria, Japan, United States and Canada. Here are some of my favourite pics from soundchecks and dressing rooms along the way. Can't remember who took them all; me mostly, I expect, except for the ones at the WFUV session (captured by John Hammond), the 6Music pic (by John Shearer), and Chris Almeida's ace photos from Union Chapel. Thanks to the great musicians who played with me this year - Bernard Butler, Rex Horan, Martin Ditcham, Makoto Sakamoto, Cameron Ralston and Pinson Chanselle. Christmas Show with Low
I was honoured to be invited to sing with Minnesota band, Low, at one of their two sold-out Christmas shows last night. The event took place at Union Chapel in London. They asked me to come and sing '25th December' - a song I wrote back in 1993. It was a magical evening: candlelit; Christmas tree all lit up; Alan and Mimi's harmonies filling the room. Low played two sets, one full of Christmas songs, and one of their own stuff. Here's Mimi's handwritten setlist.

UK and Belgium, Feb 2017
Following sell-out shows with the band in 2016, I'm back in early 2017 with a string of UK shows (plus a Belgian date) on guitar and electric piano, accompanied only by ace double-bassist Rex Horan (Neil Cowley Trio, Laura Marling). Rex toured extensively with me in 2016 and features on 'Fever Dream'. We also played together as a duo in Holland and Germany in October 2016. I am always looking at new ways to present the songs. As a band or solo, as a guitar duo with Bernard Butler, or now as a different kind of duo with Rex - I like them all. All bring something different. It keeps it fresh and alive. Rex not only brings great warmth and soul but adds top vocal harmonies too.
Expect songs and stories from 'Fever Dream' and 'Hendra' (2014) plus selections from my early career as a solo artist and with Everything But The Girl.

Union Chapel Show Photos
I just want to thank everyone who came to, or was involved with the production for, this show. It was one of the best nights of my life as a live performer; a sold-out room, atmospheric staging and what felt like a deep bond between the musicians and the 900-capacity crowd.
